Nice pics man! Again, I love the stripes.

Oh, and what I meant was that it's not required by law in Louisiana to have a front plate, so I don't have one...but it's all legal!

Thanks Philip! ... Yeah, I'm very pleased with the outcome.

Ahh, OK ... Wow! You're lucky! To me it's a stupid law. To some extent I get the tint law because I can understand a cop wanting to have some visibility to what's going on inside the car. Sad statement of society, wish it weren't, but unfortunately true. The front plate thing I am not so sure of. Especially if they can see it's a nice car and ticket you for it anyway.

Wish it were summer time. Not enough daylight. :(

Nice! I love the stripes. What percent tint did you go with on the windows?

Thanks!! ... My goal was to find something that would draw you in as you got closer, yet not be over the top. In the end I think I got what I wanted.

Oh ... see my post just above (#1285) on my tint.

Thanks SlingShot ... They are painted on and clear coated. I originally ordered factory stripes, but then found out they were vinyl and matte. I really wanted gloss so canceled that part of my order which moved me from TPW 10/23 to 11/02. The guy who did them has been doing custom stripes and pin striping for 40 years. Was told he was an artist and turns out my car is like a canvas! All painted by hand with a brush. Crazy ...

Love the pinstriping on the stripes.

As for the license plate, I was going to get one of those hideaway ones, but for now, I just bought a plain plastic mounting plate and zip tied it to the lower grill on one side. It looks stupid, but it's better than drilling the holes for the factory one I guess. I just didn't feel comfortable driving around without the front plate. Really don't want to be pulled over for that.

Thanks Karen, yep the ghosted stripes are a nice touch.

I like those hidaway too, but someone made a good point about increasing the chances of bottoming out. I heard that it was just a cheap fix it ticket here so am taking my chances until I have to come up with a tempo-plate!

Looks great 0-10.... these cars are just begging to be dropped a bit, wish I could do the tint too but New JErsey is pretty strict and not worth chancing it here.

Oh! The first shot is right from the dealer and just before tinting, the rest are after tinting and custom stripping at Laguna Beach, up on a local hilltop and at the Palm Springs Wind Mills. And yes, the guy with the beard would be me ...

After all this I have decided to get me a Nikon DSLR as an after Christmas present.

Anyway, hope you like ...
MigthyT... I'm still here as well, the stripes look awesome, that is a sweet and unique touch, glad it turned out like it dod with the bit of damage you had fixed, the car looks great. Hopefully soon I'll be able to post some more myself once my coilovers come and I can put them and the sway bars I have sitting in the garage in. Nothing else has changed for me in the past month or so. Although I have been looking into Superchargers

Thanks Robert! ... Glad some of you are still here ... Thought I'd be posting pix tomyself.

No kidding ... You remember after all the waiting and finally seconds before taking possession being all pumped up and then finding out someone scratched my baby on the dealers lot. Talk about popping my bubble! Gotta give the dealer credit though for making it right and doing a great job. The stripes became a bit of a challenge because every time I took it in we had cold or rainy weather, thus not good for drying time with all the layers of paint and clear coat. Of course the days it was out of the shop it was sunny and 75-80?? Now that I am on the other side, I'm really pleased with the outcome.

I'm trying to recover from Christmas and had the pleasure of making the perverbial first payment but I still need to get door sill and will likely look in to an exhaust next spring.

Please do post some more pictures when you get your wor done. It's cool to see how we all are making the same Camaros our own!

I am still here too folks! I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year! I have some questions for you guys.....first of all, about how much does the clear bra cost to have installed and does that protect against dings from kicked up rocks and stuff or just from bug guts????? Also, I was dumb enough to forget to tell my dealer not to put their sticker on the back, so what is the best way to get that off without damaging the paint? Any help appreciated....BYW Mighty T.......those are awesome stripes! Makes me wish I hadn't gotten factory stripes (although they are painted on) and had them customized myself! That just looks SWEET and totally unique....I'm jealous (LOL) Great job!

Depends on who installs. I got quoted $495 for a clear bra install from a guy that used rolls of 3M film and cut it himself to fit the car. Unfortunately, he had a health issue and decided that he should take some time off, so I had to find someone else. I ended up getting it done for $600 with a VentureShield film kit, and it looks pretty good. Can't even tell it's on there unless you're right next to it. I didn't get the hood done though - just the front bumper and the mirrors.

Clear bras are technically "paint protection," and that's what most installers will call them. It protects from bug guts, rock chips, and general road wear (like years and years of smacking the sand in the air at 70 MPH on the highway). If you get a chance to hold a piece of clear bra, it is RIDICULOUSLY strong. It takes a lot to puncture it. It seems like really good stuff, so I hope it does the job!

The dealer decal is probably vinyl and should peel off. I've heard that using a hair dryer on it to heat it up first helps. Get a second opinion on this first though, as I have not personally removed vinyl decals from a car before.

Glad everyone is still around!
