Pulled fuses about 1/2 hr ago, will leave them out for a couple more hours, and then take Angel for a ride and see if I notice any difference. Will post results.

Didn't notice much in the gas milage dept, however I was able to finally feel that "thrown back in my seat" sensation recently... dunno if that was more attributed to the driving conditions or the fuse pull, but for now, i'll credit the fuse pull!

My battery died over the winter and if you think about it there isn't going to be any bad result from having a dead battery (same as disconnecting it for a day, or in my case 2 months). I didn't notice any difference when I drove it again so I probably wasn't affected by the lower octain fuel setting...

Maybe not, but couldn't hurt to pull them anyway.

Before my blower I pulled mine often.

I did a fuse pull last night. Left them out for 3 hours. I don't notice anything different in my LS3 so I was probably always on the HO table. The dealer put 93 in it as I insisted but of course I don't know what it had from the factory. I have only run 93 through it from a very high volume station. The Shell station is right on the South Carolina/North Carolina border where there is a signficant price difference. Everyone that lives in NC within reasonable distance of the station fills up there to save some $. It is kind of annoying to have to wait to fill up but at least I know I'm getting fresh gas.

Also, I am getting 17-18 MPG on a fresh engine with city driving. given the repots of others getting 13 or so, I assumed I was already on the HO table. I don't think I could work it down to 13 regardless of the lead in my foot.

I'll try again in a few months just to be sure.

I've looked into this myself, talked to GM and other people here on the forum AND read practically this whole thread. From what I am gathering, this may or may not have any effect at all on the LS3 engines and is only an issue for L99s.

Have any other members heard this too? How many members on here with LS3s actually noticed a difference in either (or both) power and MPGs after a fuse pull?

Substantial difference here, drove to Wyoming and bought as low as 87 octane on the trip. Did the fuse pull after getting home and filling up with and driving a tank of 93. Big diff...

I've got an LS3... I did the pull about 10 days ago. Now, I am still breaking the engine in (currently, 2000 miles)... but- I reset and noted hwy driving at a max of 17mpg with no hard acceleration during a roughly 100 mile hwy drive. (This was at about 1200 miles b4 the pull) This past weekend (after fuse pull) I reset the mpg twice, first tank I got 19.1 ave, second was 20.2 ave...and that was averaging 82mph hwy, with hard acceleration from the toll booths. After about 30 add'l miles of city driving today, I've only dropped from the 20.2 down to 19.5... i'll be happy if I can keep anything over 17mpg city!

Not sure if its just the engine breaking in, but it definitely didn't hurt any, and its getting better!

I have ran from 87-93 in my LS3 and always get 17/19 city and 24/27 hwy. These fuel table "issues" don't seem to be a problem.

Ok I'm sorry but I did not read all 54 pages so if this was covered forgive me.

It seems to be but just to make sure is one hour enough time?

Do I need to start it immediately or could I do the pull after work and not start the car till the next day?

Is the octane table only high and low or is it multi-point? My car currently has half a tank of premium and half a tank of medium grade. Will it still possibly boost it some even though it's not a full tank of the best stuff (to where I could do it again when it's purely premium) or am I better off only doing it when it's pure?

Only 2 tables. That's what we've been told anyway.

If you are not gonna start it till the next day, just leave them out during that time. But I don't think it will matter either way.

1 hour should be plenty, but I've read otherwise. The original fuse pull was for about 3 hours but I didn't time it exactly.
