Oh and while researching top speeds I stumbled upon this:

Mustang steering has always been numb, and the Track pack doesn’t force any more circulation into it. Don’t bring along a Miata, as we did, or you’ll just get depressed. The Mustang’s flat seats allow you to flop around—we had knee bruises at day’s end—and the brake pedal started melting after a few laps, requiring frequent cool-downs.

The guy was specifically talking about stock Mustang's being limited. He never said all Mustang's were limited and could never get past that, but that a stock GT is limited aerodynamically to around 150.

I'm going to be honest and say I believe multiple different sources citing the drag limitation of the car then one person saying they went 165. I don't think you're lying or anything, but it seems that the car is drag limited to 150ish stock.

I'm not saying you're 100% wrong and I'm 100% right, but with what I can find at the moment all the sources seem to agree that the stock Mustang GT is drag limited to around 150. Maybe the (multiple) sources are wrong. I don't think so but could be. However, you can't deny it's much stronger evidence then one guy's story.
