What do you expect ;o). The only thing constant is change!

I like to try a lot of different things. E85 is awesome...

Can't wait for fest!

Thanks for checking in... love your new ride...

Today, I built my lower air box. The new HX cooler rendered the ZL1 version useless so, worked with some ABS Plastic, heat gun, and built it up in sections:

Worked out nice. Next weekend, I'll take off the bumper and do the upper part.

After doing the lower box, I notice an oil leak again, from the Mishimoto sandwich. This time, after I took off the filter, I checked the sandwich bolt torque, and sure enough, it was loose -- not dangerously loose, but enough that I'm sure it was the cause. Looks like every time I change the filter, I'm going to re-check the torque on the sandwich bolt -- just to be 100% sure.

Took it out for a test drive -- success for part 1!

I was seeing about 192°-194° (some over 200° on my way driving @ 70+ to CFest VII) in 95° temps before adding the lower air dam, today 183° to 186° just doing the lower @ the same 95° ambient temp!

My trans temps are now back down to 165° to 167°, and the IAT2 temps dropped from 26° to 28° over ambient to now 18° to 21° over -- so a big difference, just from adding the lower air dam. I'll be doing the upper next weekend, forcing air though the stacked oil/trans cooler and routing air to the Ron Davis HX. I'm expecting to see a drop of about 3° to 5° in trans temps and about 2° in IAT2 temps -- we'll see! But, I know the lower helped a ton since its the biggest air mass to flow...

Filled up with corn again, now seeing 70%! That is good news...

Dang you have been busy. Nice little conversion as well. I have done about the same mods except wish I did the 2.45 grip tech I still might swap it out and do some headers for that 700rwhp. That 650rwhp is about a sweet spot where driver mod kicks in cause 600 is easy to hook even with stock zl1 tires but 650 takes some skill. Nice to have another one hooked on cheap high octane. Couldn't have a better tech behind you +1 for Dave

Dave's pretty awesome for sure. He's right, corn is addicting ;o).

The griptec works very well and was worth the change. I'm only at 10 PSI so could go to a 2.38, but it's working well right now. Once the air box is done, I'll know where I stand in this Texas heat -- then the forged LSA long block ;o)

Well, my new install of HP Tuners is giving me this when I try to 'Flash->Read':

HP Tuners in their forum says its a locked ECM. Ryan has used HP Tuners and he does not lock the tunes.

Send a forum messages to Keith @ HP Tuners -- hoping he can lead me to what might be the issue.

Latest HP Tuners 3.6x, new hardware, can see it communicating, waited for 15 to 20 seconds before reading...

Hope to find out!

Don, select do not read, for the FSCM, and try again. I know it says ECM failed tho. I've done around 12 cars with mine and never had a glitch. You don't have to license the fpcm if you're not going to make changes to it. It will save you a $50 credit.

Did the A and B drivers install correctly for your MPVI during set up?

Yep, both installed correctly. I opened up driver manager while the unit was in the USB port to verify.

Ryan is checking to see if my autocal may have locked the file based on file type.

I'll try the FSCM... just to make sure. Thanks for the tip!

Autocal could do it I reckon. I'm not too familiar with autocal tho. Is it something you can unmarry from the car? Just a thought

HP Tuners Working!

Success!

It turns out that AutoCal/EFI Live 'lock' the file (not the ECM), thus no other software can read it -- appears to be on by default -- I asked Ryan if he could send me the files unlocked -- I uploaded them, and finally HP Tuners could read:

Now, to find the OBDII Readiness Monitors in HP Tuners -- Like EFI Live has:

Under the DTC tab, set whatever you're looking for to NO ERROR REPORTED. Should show ready after that. Is this for inspection purposes? just curious

Yes, I don't have an EGR System, and for some reason, its on. I did check the DTC and all of them shows not reported, however, the readiness tests shows 'Not Ready' vs 'Not Supported', which in my case should be 'Not Supported'.

Thus, why I needed it to be set to the correct setting. I had it done in the past with EFI Live. EFI Live has features HP does not...

Thanks!
