EFILive is a bit different for sure -- HPTuners is a bit easier to scan and flash. I used the EFILive Version 8 tool to scan and save the file (for the ECM). Then after flashing the ECM, used HP Tuners to re-read the current flash and save it.

This way, I have both an EFI Live and HP Tuner's file from this starting point. A bit more work, but, I get to work with both tools and see which one I prefer -- for certain things, EFI Live is easier to navigate (Readiness Monitors being one), E85/Flex Fuel have all the settings in a convenient location (except DTCs):

HP Tuners, you can use the filter (EFI Live has the same):

So, benefits with both!

Hammdo, why didn't your tuner make these changes for you? Just curious...

He initially did the EGR, but the file he used didn't have that update.

We talked about the flex-fuel diags when I was up there. He informed me he didn't turn them on and I was OK with it, thinking I wouldn't have an issue with the sensor. After the failure of the sensor, I decided to turn them on -- he would have done that no question, but I'm getting to the tuning part now, and I wanted to do those changes this time. Ryan is an excellent tuner and I have complete confidence in him. We always discuss all options, but, the final decision is always mine -- and I decided to let it go for the time being since I was heading to CamaroFest. Everything worked perfectly -- until it didn't ;o) -- hindsight is 20-20 ;o)

lol ok. I wasn't questioning the quality of the tuner, just wondering why and you answered it!

Yes, but it helps night vision around curbs. Texas doesn't paint the damn things and there is usually no street lights to show them ;o)...

The new lights worked excellent -- I was able to see curbs much easier. Car is running great, and the emission monitors set -- that only took 1 drive cycle (Evap NEVER sets unless I do the Tech2 trick). So, that part is over. Now, when Ryan's schedule frees up, get that last hesitation taken care of -- running great on E85 (actually 75 ;o)...

Ok.....I have decided when you go forged stroker you need a Whipple or bigger.

You are already at 2.45 up top and cant change lower... you will need more Air!!!

Either that or go 3belt with a 9.55 lower!

Just my .02 because I care!

More power = more heat = timing pulled ;o)

I'd go the new Maggie, but 7k for maybe 40 rwhp? Not so sure...

3" exhaust would help it breath better...

I'll wait and see what we get with the forged ;o)... Only so much I can used on the road course ;o)...
