If it is, wouldn't you assume GM would have worked some issues out regarding heat soak before they put it in their track god? I can't imagine they wouldn't address this if it were true.

I'm not worried about heat soak I just think the Z06 should be NA. With all the "hallowed" Z/28 talk it doesn't make sense to turn around and supercharge the Z06. The other disappointment is that this pretty much seals the deal for not having a high horsepower NA motor from the factory this coming generation. If they were going to make one it would have to go in the Z06 which appears to be not happening.

Forced induction doesn't bother me on principle. If it delivers on the track with no compromises, the fact that it's got a turbo or SCer doesn't get in the way for me. Maybe I've just had too many of my last few cars either TC or SC.
Besides they have the LT1 so close to the LS7 anyway they would have to go even higher in HP. And as much as I have serious love for the LS7, everything I ever heard was it was already maxed out for a small block for displacement and HP. Yes I know you can cam it do more to it aftermarket, but for GM specs I think that was about as much as we'll see. Even the Z/28 didn't pick up much. My biggest concern in Turbo or SC would simply be the weight penalty. The C7 already has the aluminium frame which was a big part of the difference between the C6 and the Z06. There isn't as much to get out to make the upcoming Z06 weigh what the C6 Z06 weighed. So I suspect the new Z06 will weigh maybe 100 or 150 pounds or so more than the last one. I am excited to see what the specs are and what engine it will have.

I don't have a problem with supercharging or turbocharging but I don't believe they belong on a Z06 or Z/28. Like you said, the Stingray already had an aluminum chassis so there wouldn't be a big weight loss, if any. Now you add a bunch of weight on the nose of the car.

No matter what is inside, when all is said and done, it will be a C7, and will almost certainly surpass the C6 in every category.
Just let that sink in for a moment.

..Bears not too shabby on D against pass and rush, overall 5th and 17th...I am elated that the Boys lost...so sorry for Jerry Jones...he's a narcissist. And he's killing his own franchise playing a GM.
