UPDATE: I tried pre-ordering another pace car from Bob, but he told me the Jan. 15th pre-orders were sold out. Hopefully, there will be other places to buy this model, or if AMT can make more of them.....:(

i got one of these amt 1:24 promo plastic cars off of ebay. they are great other than these don't have the black gills. they just started popping up this week. nice though!

I have my 2011 Pace Car F/S it's a Dealer car LS3 w/M6 Manual Trans. I just listed it in the classified section. I now have two so one has to go...

Did you see what the actual 2011 pace car sold at Barrett Jackson this weekend. I believe it was $148,500 plus the buyers premium 10%. So what does that make ours worth? Mine's going on E-Bay tonight. NOT. Would'nt sell mine as its a keeper

Any of you guys having problems with your tops? Hope not but it would be interesting to see if GM gave these cars more attention than ours.

Yep I saw it. I think $148,500 was right but, it is not the actual pace car it was the #1 festival car. It was actually auctioned off in April and went for 200K and the owner got a sweet package including a lap at the track with the car prior to the race and a meet & greet with A.J. Foyt. The winner was a woman.

I love mine too and am really split on which to sell. I like driving the manual better but, having a festival car is cool to....

I was thinking about this myself. I would not think that the dealer ordered Pace Cars were given any special attention, since they are just pulled off the assembly line. That being said, the actual Pace Cars and the 50 festival cars that are used at the track would have been the first convertibles off the line and it might be possible that they were given special treatment. Their are also a couple of other things to consider;

First is that I would not expect most of the dealer ordered Pace Cars to get as much use as the daily driver cars. Example; my M6 Manual dealer car has less than 500 miles on it. I do notice only very, very slight rub marks. This could be just because it is garage kept and barely used.

My festival car is different it has 3,800 miles on it, since it was used March, April and May at Indy events. The top shows no signs of rubbing.

Well I am not sure if that provides any more insight or not.

Also several times the parade cars had people riding up on the boot over the tops...this could cause some bending in the bows ?? I don't really think the car was designed to have riders up on the boot ??!! Just my $.02
