Intake temps on mine are not high at all. Magnuson has worked hard to make sure you keep your temps down and since you've had your Maggie on your gen 5 things have changed on the Gen 6 for better cooling and lower intake temps.

You could not go wrong with any upgrade!! Copy and pasted from my other post. Shelby, Ford- AMG R/D w/ lysolm Superchargers. They are expensive & GM is not a fan due to cost. Twin-Screw operating temperatures are lower than a roots type system & I have seen side by side demonstrations @ SEMA. Twin screw is compressed within the blower & Eaton is compressed within the inlet manifold. That is where the Eaton efficiency is lost. Eaton system will be more than the Whipple when it is released, makes no sense. __________________

I don't think I have seen the bricks in a 2650 maggi yet... I know the GM 2650 on the ZR1 are just like the 1.7lt4 2x long and skinny.. Redline screwed up in my opinion of course the customer paid for the eforce 2650 or most of it.. Only way to know for sure is to test on a stock Zl1 see which makes the most power when the fuel system is maxed out!

I know the Maggie 2650 isn't out yet that's why I was leaning towards the Edelbrock cause of availability & cooling & Edelbrock provides you with OEM like components. I will use meth if needed in the future. Ahmad

Preach. I've had it with the top mount blowers honestly. The Maggie does look good and I think the Whip is fine as long as you can keep temps down. I literally have 1 good pull in my car, then it flat lines and I'm done for the night. Maybe 2 pulls. That all changes today tho. If I could keep IAT's down 30 degrees, I'd be fine and can run this set up all day and night without it flat lining, but tis living in Houston. I'm running E85, Weapon X HX system and 3 nozzle meth set up and it's still getting toasted. haha.

You can't compare your 1.7 to a 2.9 or the new 2650.. The 1.7 on its best day with perfect circumstances (blower porting, TB, Pulleys, ported heads, cam weapon X exchangers) with e85 and meth makes 800 whp... the whipple and 2650 will come close to 800 w 93 octane setup the same way..

It's okay. I made out. Sold my set up for $7k so. It's up at Sorians getting the F1aA-94 treatment. The problem was I went to far with that blower. I could of been happy with just 750 HP on a stock upper pulley and had zero heat soak, but noooooooooooo. I had to keep going. haha. I'm still not going to be finished. Once I get this new power down, we are gonna pull the motor and have LME build it, hopefully pushing me to around the 1500 mark. Then, I'll be done.

I owned a 2004 SVT Cobra 2.3L Whipple and a 2008 & 2011 GT500. Been part of that crowd.

Another perspective on how to choose a blower upgrade...
I have been waiting and watching Edelbrock/magnuson/Whipple. Whoever receives a CARB ( California Air Resources Board) approval gets my business. I can then up the power from there without fear. I am excited to see Edelbrock jump into the upgrade game, I fear with so few ZL1’s might not be economical for them to make the kit smog legal. Repeated calls to Whipple and I am told they are waiting form CARB approval. Magnuson intends to get approval. So, a waiting game for me. In the meantime, e85 and a tune will have to do.
