Front inner fender liner issues...GM part resolution
Trivial issue but a quality control of minimal impact. The factory inner fender felt-like liner behind the driver's side front tire has succumbed to 2500 track miles & 2500 street miles. A gaping hole appeared as pics will show.
I purchased a new unit from cheapestgmparts.com and the new fender liner has a reinforcement in this exact location. Easy install but at least 20 screws & 4 plastic rivets to replace. Check out the pics.

agreed...the angle of the pic is a little off old vs new but GM is in the ballpark with their new reinforcement

Perhaps stiffener moves inner part farther away from contact point.

What do you think was the cause of it?
Possibly airflow through the facia was making it bluge into the sidewall of the tire?
