You are in good hands with Don.

I was wondering when you were going to jump in. I'm curious to see the logs and the fuel pressure since yoube been dealing with decaying pressure on the top end. Also Don only busted my balls a bit for bringing a 6 cylinder to his shop

Last week I took my car in to run some diagnostics. I figured it was something to do with the turbos or waste gates that was causing me problems. On the test drive we found the problem pretty quickly my knock sensors are going off and pulling every bit of timing out of the car. 1st and 2nd gear are fine with full power and all the timing, but once we got on the highway and I tried to do some pulls the timing was brought right to zero. I'm not sure why my knock sensors are doing this now. I never had a problem with them before. I have new plugs coming even though the ones in it look fine. We also switched to winter mix gas, I was told it can have some decent negative performance effects, so I picked up some octane booster and I'll be testing that out too.

I ran a lucas oil brand octane booster in a full tank of gas a while back and the knock was gone. The car was back and strong with no hesitation. So winter gas seems to have a decent effect on performance. I bought new plugs, gapped them, I just never put them in. I've been working non stop this past month for our overhaul and I haven't had time to do much of anything.

I saw a blue tractor on 146 south today. thought it could have been you.

I sure don't want to run one all the time. $10 a bottle plus 93, it'd get pricey. I currently am running it without the booster. no need to spool the turbos currently

Octane booster shouldn't be needed all the times in the winter. But there will be a few times that since the fuel is scaled down for winter use that it could be watered down to much and cause a bit of issues with some cars. I have a fuel / petroleum background so for those running boost it is recommended if you in a state that gets cold to carry a bottle of octane booster.

Mine has a knock that pulls all my timing out. The octane booster fixed the knock and gave me my power back. I haven't been able to fully blame winter gas yet.
