Big Boy 4014 is finally on its way to Cheyenne

So yesterday was the day that Union Pacific got Big Boy 4014 back on the rails and began its journey to Cheyenne for restoration. They started the move around 1 AM but I didn't feel like being up all night so I went over to Covina where they had it at the Metrolink station. After that I spent the day driving around to different spots watching the move. Here are a couple videos I took.

Yeah it was an awesome experience. It will be even more so when it's under steam again.

Just imagine the 4014, 3985 and 844 running together.

As a history buff and train buff, this is the best of the both worlds for sure. Just seeing something built 70+ years ago that moved so well was amazing.
