Did the ‘04 GTO know they were racing? With the Civic being NA there’s really not much chance he would keep up with you. If he has a big freaking turbo then it might be a race if he has supporting mods to keep everything together. Bring some chop sticks and go eat some rice!

I did a good acceleration comparison with my long time friend that owns a built B18 hatch civic. All honda crap is bs to me, my Hayabusa makes more power stock than most built Hondas. Either way, we did a couple tests on a closed course. Here were my findings.

Neither car launches well compared to the motorcycles I'm used to. Granted I have only attempted 2 launches in this car to date, it is my commuter after all. We scrambled for traction through first and second feathering the throttle, he grabbed traction for a moment and stayed next to me until I also cleared the dirty/gravel crap on the road and hooked up. I left at that point. No comparison. Go from a dig and have fun burning rubber when you hit dirty sections of pavement. Life is about fun, not winning anyways.

It was a beast!! There were few streetable v8s that could keep up. Only downfall was my short geared transmission. At 70mph I would be hovering around 5k rpms. While I don't think this civic will give you much trouble, they ain't always slow.
Great point. My friends car was regeared and it was all over for him by 100. He spent too much time shifting.

20 in 2nd gear? I dont know how the gears changed your car but I am shifting into second between 40-45 on stk gears. You will only be in 1st for a second or 1.5 so maybe 2nds would be the gear to start in. Maybe start slower.
