Hey GM employees, anyone want to help out a Camaro brother in need?

I have a Camaro on the way and it will be here in a week or two.
Lost my job today,
I'm trying to think of ways to still get my car but it does not look good.

Since they are getting rid of the current GMS Employee discount how about going on line and getting a authorization number for me?
That will make it a lot more possible, I have the cash for that.

You just need your name, birth date and zip code to get one. It's all gone after the new year, let someone use it that has a car on the ground before it's gone.

I was reading the relationship rules at GM family first and it has step kids and 1/2 brothers and step grand kids, there is no way to check all that out.

I can even Pay Pal someone $100.00 for Xmas presents for a Good Authorization code? PM me!

Another option is the GM Credit Union Discount program - https://www.exclusivegmoffer.com/ip-...do?program=cud

Same discount as GMS, so if you or a family member belongs to a Credit Union you can try that as well...

Sorry you lost your job - good luck finding the next job & getting your Camaro.

Is there a better time? It's either get the car or get a rifle and find a watch tower.

I have to agree with SSOOCH discount or not you shouldn't be buying a car without a job.

Also, the way the employee discount program is set up is changing, but not going away completely...So, before you think someone will do something against the rules because they have "nothing to lose" you may want to consider that.

If you currently have a comp. vehicle and know a salaried GM employee you can get GMS...

Check with your dealer on this stuff. If you already have a Credit Union discount it will be the same as Supplier. You can not add the CU discount in addition to say Friend & Family discount (which is Supplier). You either get one or the other. You can't add discounts on top of each other. Even if you were to Employee pricing you couldn't add the CU discount on top of that.

For Employee pricing you'll need to be releated to the Employee. If a non-related employee gave you their Employee pricing and GM audited it the rights of that employee to buy at employee pricing will more than likely be revoked. So, chances of getting basically a stranger to give Employee pricing will probably be slim to none.

What you need to do is get a rebate in addition to your CU discount. If you take possession before the end of the year you can get a $750 rebate from USAA if you sign up with them and you should be able to get the $500 opt out for the 60 day money back guarantee.

Rebates are cumlative. Discounts are not.

I just hope the CU discount and other rebates will continue on next year. I won't get mine until March or April.

HeatherR has the answer. If you have a competitive vehicle in your name any GM employee can get you the employee discount up to January 4.

And ummmm yes, they do check who the discount goes to. There are regular audits. The GM employee would have to lie on your behalf and risk losing their discount if discovered. So $100 is a generous offer, but I don't know of a GM employee that would put themselves at risk.

GMS discount monthly payment difference over no discount is roughly $40 a month.

Job or not, if $40 is going to break you, better not buy a Camaro.

Dude, not only is this as shady as it gets, it's freaking cheating and borderline stealing. I'm sympathetic to your situation but if you lost your job, this car should be the last thing on your agenda. Go get a job and you won't have to ask anyone to jeopardize their morals. God this is frustrating! "I can't get what I want so I'll beg borrow cheat and steal to get it" Sooo much more I want to say about this but I will bite my tongue.
