To the posters (you know who you are) who advise the OP to drive like an ass and screw the neighbours.

Congratulations. Thanks for keeping the stereotype alive.

Ohoh.... I'm gonna guess I'm over both of those

To the OP'r - What does that neighbour drive? I bet we could take some good guesses.

To the op, your doing the right thing by trying to keep the peace. To everyone that says screw the neighbors I hope you never have to experience trying to get a newborn to sleep to turn around 10 minutes later and have some drunken jackass on a Haryley go by your house full throttle at 3:00am. It's gets old fast. Luckily for us he got just a little to drunk one night and smashed his head into a tree.

I ride Harleys.
I live in the last house on the street at the bottom of a slight grade.
On the odd occasion I'm coming home after 11 or so I kill the engine at the top of the hill and coast into my garage.
I've never had one complaint from any of my neighbours.
Why be an asshole?

I might look like one but I try not to act like one.

This is what you do....get a set of long tubes and a cut out. Drive by every morning and make sure you bounce of your rev limiter a few times. Maybe stop to do a brake torque and some full throttle launches. Basically make it a good spot to practice burn outs and your 60 ft times. After a few weeks of that close the cut outs and they'll never notice when you drive by.

Tell him his lawn mower wakes you up from your afternoon naps. Let him get the hint that he doesn't own the neighbourhood. But don't piss him off by letting him think that muscle car owners have no responsibility. Maybe explain the situation that it came that way STOCK!!!

I had to kindly remind my neighbor that what he was hearing was not noise....

IT IS MUSIC!!!

All joking aside, I'm very conscious of the noise in nieghborhoods and school zones. Lugging it into my neighborhood is a priority for me personally. I cant cut it off and coast, but I am conscious of the music made by my LS3...

This is what being cool and respectful of others is all about. I wish some of my neighbors where like you.

I just do my very best to be as quiet as I possibly can when coming home after 10 and I very rarely leave the house early in the morning. It's all about making an effort not to disturb the neighbours and most people will recognize that. On the other hand there are some pretty bitchy people out there who will complain regardless of how hard you try to accomadate them. You'll never make everyone happy all the time, but if most of the appreciate your efforts they are more likely to stick up for you with the killjoy complainer.

Thanks for all of your opinions, serious or otherwise. I've talked to other neighbours and none of them have any complaints so I'll just keep doing what I'm doing and hope for the best. If he takes this to another level then I'll just have to deal with it.
