Looking for documentation on NPP operation

I've read NPP programming opens the valves at idle, then closes them until 3500 then re-opens them. Is this correct? Does anyone have Documentation of this? Is there any way to keep the valves closed at all time until 3500? Yes, I've looked at the Mild2Wild but that appears to have only two modes: open all the time or factory settings which would still leave the valves open at idle. Get what I'm looking for? A quieter startup.

I think you are thinking about this device which I mention in the first post:

http://www.apex-speed.com/mild2wild.html

You don't really get "full" control, you get two modes: factory and open full time. If you rad the product description, it seems to suggest that the factory setting is always closed below 3500. Maybe the idea that I picked up that it was open at idle was wrong. I would be happy to determine that. That's why I'm looking for some documentation on exactly what RPM the factory setting opens and closes. Of course, there's nothing in the nowner's manual (thank you GM). Maybe I can get the CS rep to find out.

Oh believe me, I've searched. The problem is, you get every thread that ever mentions NPP and I'm just not going to wade through all of those when someone will see this and have the answer. Easy. In fact, i have read your thread. It does NOT answer my question.

I know I've read a thread that describes a device that keeps the valve CLOSED = full time quiet. I don't remember where it was...I just recall it seemed counter intuitive at the time.

So they do not open at startup and fast idle?

So, they are open at startup/fast idle?

Yes, they are open at start up and fast idle.

OK, great. That's what I said my understanding was in post 1. What I want is to have the valves closed from startup until 3000 or so. My reading of M2W is that it doesn't do that. It has two modes: open all the time or factory settings.

So I guess h018871's home made solution is the only known method of getting the flaps closed at idle?
