O.K., out comes the fact-check.. The '99 Cobra did not make less power than the GT, that's not true. What's true is that it didn't make any MORE power than the 305hp version of the 4.6 Cobra it replaced. The primary culprit was a restrictive bend in the exhaust done by Ford's supplier AFTER they had published their power rating.

Embarrassing? Certainly. But holy cow, we could go on FOREVER about embarrassing moments, such as back in the 80's when GM was having to repaint all their damn cars under warranty...

Or my favorite was when GM couldn't come up with a solution to cure the fuel percolation issue in my 5.0 H.O. 1985 IROC (all of the 305 H.O.'s had the problem), but since they were relatively low-production, after 4-5 failed attempts, I got a letter from district that said "sorry, we can't fix it", and was sent down the road...

We could pick these fights like a bunch of 6-year-old IDIOTS endlessly...

So I'm going to try my best to stay on-point...

Actually, the cure for that was accomplished through...hold on, now...road racing. Yup, by GM-Canada when they created the forunner to the 1LE for the GM/Player's Challenge. One of the necessary improvements for those 1986-Canada-only L69 F-cars was an improved fuel system, tank baffles and all, that eventually surfaced on the RPO 1LE cars, '98-forward...

Tanks alot, we said...

More facts...

...because some people are actually capable of liking more than one car. I love Camaros, and that's why I'm on the site. However, I can't stand blind bias towards any side.

I'm not calling out the ZL1 as much as I'm calling out you for trashing the GT500.

I'm not going to go back and look, and honestly it's just sad that you're telling people to research your posts by the number. I'm done wasting my time on you.

What I've gathered over the last few days is that LowDown is the ultimate troll. And I don't even mean that in a totally negative way.

The guys is clearly LOADED with facts... like that ESPN show where the contestants tried to beat "Swa-mi" or whatever his name is.

The negative comes from his complete refusal to even look at the flip side of the coin.
As a Mustang fan, I can come onto this site and respect what GM has done with their ZL1.

For its weight, it clearly handles superbly.
From all the revies I have read, it inspires confidence to the driver unlike anything they've test driven that doesn't literally cost your arm and leg.
The car, while not my taste, is aesthetically pleasing to a LARGE number of people.
GM did a fantastic job promoting the car.
Owners are overwhelmingly coming back with positive reviews and I'm assuming big smiles.

Yet I'm sure lowdown will be the first to proudly admit he sees nothing positive about the Shelby Mustang beginning in '07 and continuing up to the not yet released '13 model.
