Thoughts on F1X 416 M6 build?

Just as title says what are your thoughts on a 416 using ls3 block all forged internals, running a f1x pro charger? I'm looking for 1000+ hp would be happier with 1100+ hp.

Would the ls3 block hold up well? I'm sure it would be smarter to go with a LSX block but would love to keep the ls3 block and run the procharger.

F1X can totally make 1100whp BUT that is questionable on an aluminum block. I would say "holds up well" at about 1000-1050whp. But sure to overdrive it and wastegate for boost control. This will get torque up and have it in the power better every time you shift. That's one of the big complaints on centri M/T cars.

if i were you and had plans for over 1k regularly. Iron Block/ Twin Turbo. Most turbo kits these days can be had cheaper then blower kits, and make more power. If you use certain controllers you can boost by gear adjust it all to work properly.

In my opinion if you stay under 1k hp forged Aluminum ls3 is ok.

Over 1k hp I would consider an Iron block

What heads are you planning to run? I think you will want some pretty thick heads if sticking with a 4-bolt setup.

Other than that it should run well.

I am doing similar right now, but not a stock block, ERL 427 w/F1A planning on going to the F1X once a transmission and rear end setup are in the budget.

My Scat crank is flexing @ aprox 800 Crank HP. #2 & #4 main bearings (ACL). Nothing broke, just tore it down for inspection. If you dont mind the weight i would suggest a iron block.

is that with ARP on the mains? that seems like a very attainable HP on a stock short block, let alone a built one.

Hope you got your engine, or at least ordered it. ERL is exiting the car engine business as of now.

Yeah I have had possession of my block for over a year, but definitely not happy they are closing. Found out yesterday they sent me the wrong sized ARP bolts for the top of the cylinder in the head stud kit. Called them and they insisted I send back the wrong ones before they would send me the correct ones. Kinda pissed me off I spent 11k on a shortblock including the head stud kit and they want to play the game instead of give me what I paid for over $24 worth of bolts on a 11k sale.

Only thing I did to mine was pin the mains and ran ARP everything. stock block held great at 1100hp and is still running strong 3 years later ( just in a different car)

the F1X is a great blower that will handle anything you want to throw at it. I have a LSX block in mine now and running 30 pounds of boost thru it with the X
