Brake Pad Grease

Does anyone who tracks their car grease the back of their brake pads? I have not been doing it for fear melted grease getting where it could cause an issue. I'll be installing new Cobalt Friction pads soon, hoping for sounding less like a BUS.

There is a brake specific grease/glue for reducing noise... I've never used it. What I have done, and it seems to work well is to spray paint the back of the pads. With racing pads though... Not likely going to keep those quiet.

IIRC Advanced Auto has this in stock.

But it won't keep them quiet. It is more for the pins.

The drag strip is like sniffing glue, it's cheap, it's a decent buzz, it doesn't last long and they are all the same.
Road racing is like China White Heroin, the buzz is stronger, the high lasts for hours, it's extremely addictive and they are all different.
I can't wait for my next
Track fix.

TBone; do you use it on the back of the pads or do you leave them dry?

I've used it on the back of pads in moderation. It won't melt your seals but shit Hawk pads will.

Cobalt Frictions are very quiet pads for what they are. Hardly a peep out of mine.
