pouring here real hard for a couple days here in Kanas city. maybe its a good day to go check out the 13 verts on the dealers lot, he has 2, to see how "dry" they are. but guess if i order a new one, 14, it may not matter. the salesman very nice, have visited there several times, he knows i am detailed, and ask ton of questions, but he not forthcoming on problems. he said they do minor fixes at dealer, but major ones they send the car out to a top shop. but he has no real comment on issues.

Good idea to check it out after a lot of rain, but you need to check out the actual vehicle you are buying. When the cars are assembled properly and everthing is functioning the top is very water tight. You just need to make sure that the actual car you are buying has no issues.

Love my vert. BRM with tan top.

Get the SS or you will have regrets... The mpg difference is not that significant.

Tan top was still available in 2013. Don't know about 2014.

I went with tan because it is cooler in summer if you are driving top up.

Very fun to drive.

Plan on racing? Get a coupe. Plan on cruising? Get a 'vert (chicks love it). But whatever you do buy used! Lotsa clean low mile SS's out there.

i have bought new cars for quite a while. and i just prefer to buy a new car, i keep them forever and i know how it will be treated. the SS gets 24 hwy, and LT 29. pretty significant. and agian, the speed limit is 70, whether you have a ford focus or a ZL1. where you going to use all that horsepower? 323 in v6 is plenty for me, i dont race, and looking for daily driver.

when looking at new verts on the dealer lots, is there a way to see the water bags everyone talks about? or does the car have to be taken apart to see them. i was curious. does any other make or model use these bags, or just the camaro?

My point exactly, "buy an SS", blah, blah.. You don't need an SS and you certainly won't regret not buying it. I have a V6 and it has more than enough power and on top of that, I don't have to buy premium gas...

(On the same note, the SS guys get upset when I tell them I averaged 31mpg on our long road trips and look just as good as they do)

Neither do I.

Bought a G8 with the six. Not bad.

But when it came time to buy the Camaro, went with V8 with no hesitation.

Conscious decision. Perfectly willing to settle for the lower mpg.
