is the torque converter really worth all the money and labor? could you give an estimated quarter mile improvement after install?

Depends on the mods. For mine I went from 12.5 to 11.8 with a supercharger. On my wife's Mustang V6 it went from 13.6 to 13.2 with a soft tune. These are with triple disk converters locking up in 2nd gear, which increases the acceleration a lot. When I did my testing without my supercharger, I showed a 0.3 second increase in 0-60 MPH by locking in 2nd gear vs keeping it unlocked.

If you don't have it already, get a transmission oil cooler, the stock one is bad for it.
