A DOHC engine is probably good for 5% - 10% better output for a given displacement, and the advantage of being able to juggle the exhaust vs intake valve timing is good for a little more in some parts of the rev range. A DOHC will normally have a higher rev limit.
The LS3 still has about a 25% advantage in displacement, call this "cushion" against the DOHC advantages of volumetric efficiency and ability to utilize shorter gearing. I certainly expect the LS3 to come out on top given equal-ish mod levels, though not to an extent where "destroy" would be a good description. All of which is beside the point of the 1LE anyway. Why are people comparing the ls3 to the coyote? I thought this was car vs car. The mustangs trapping 123-126 are only around 450whp. A 450whp 1le will have a hard time hitting high teens.

Yea and you will soon be trading back cause you definitely favor the 5.0, which there's nothing wrong with there both great cars.

Yea I favor the 5.0...that's why I traded it in for a camaro. It all makes sense now, thanks for clearing it all up.
