What's more irritating is my dealer that is like "Ah we test drove the camaros with summer tires pretty much all last winter!" yeah ok
it like seriously doesn't seem to be a factor for him, and he isn't a car guy either(and neither WAS I, and I truly am not, but jesus research the product you are selling) |

Second, because many areas where it will be driven will see little or no snow and will rarely dip below 40* temperature. Third, 2/3 of the builds will be LT versions, each of which will roll off the assembly line with all season tires. Laborsmith |

Syracuse.
Towns just to our north already had a good taste of winter. Mexico, NY received 9 inches of snow back on October 16th. A lot of CNY was already salted, too. Tough being a car, bike, or boat guy up here.

Idunno.....are you sure you'll be able to by such a Badass car in six years? This current window of awsomeness might only be open for a few years due to CAFE and tighter emissions, etc. I guess my fears are based on the fact that I first got my license in the mid 70's. A guy doesn't forget mid 70's to mid 80's "performance" cars. But damn, for now, holy cow!

Hold on... yup! Still looks like 80+ degree weather here in SoCal with chances of sprinkles. We need rain, but will never see snow this year.

There is no ONE correct size for winter tire. As long as you keep the overall size of the tires similar to what came with your car, you should be fine. Assuming 18" wheels will fit on 16 Camaros, I'm planning to go with 18" Wheels/tires package from tirerack.com (If I can fit 17" wheels, I'm going with that, but I highly doubt I can, because of the big caliper) Something around 235/55/18 range would work, I'm guessing. Tirerack.com will post up available wheels/tires package once the cars start to show up at dealers, I would think. (They currently show winter tires package for 15 Camaro, but not for 16 Camaro yet) - oh, and if TPMS warning light bugs you, you can order wheels/tires/sensor package. I prefer 18" winter tires, simply because the tires are cheaper, and it rides better - 20" wheels can get damaged so easily on crappy Michigan winter road.

I was raised in Clinton. Left there in 1980 at age 26. Gotta say, I don't miss the snow at all... except maybe on Christmas Day. Still have lots of friends up there and visit at least once a year.
