427 with a new style TVS?

I am looking at swapping a forged 427 LS7 with LS3 heads into my 2011 ss that I already have a new style slp tvs 2300 on. I know the 2300 is not the ideal blower for this engine, but I am really only looking to get 650-700rwhp. This will be a weekend warrior (1/4 mile) and nice weather driver.

So, the main question is, has anyone ran the new style tvs on a 427? Would the older version be better due to multipule pulley options to achieve 10psi of boost? I do have an opportunity to use the older version if I would like, but I really like what I have.

I appreciate your time, and value any and all opionions.

You're going to need an overdriven balancer to do it with a front drive. You might get away without the o/d with a rear drive. I hate the idea of running all of the accessories on the front of the motor faster than they need to be run. Your call.

Nope! Front drive version will never support a 427 @ 10 psi!

The SLP has no external rear pulleys so he doesn't have that option. Just the older 2300 have the rear cog option.

If I am understating everyone correctly, I need to run the old style because of the rear pulley options available to help me achieve to desired boost level and rotor rpm. Correct?

The older 2300 will most likely achieve higher boost but that comes with higher iats which isn't gd.

You'll have to find a happy medium.

Understood sir. I am looking for 650-700rwhp. I figured it would take around 10psi, but I am not dead set on that.

May be a bit of a problem. 10 psi on my 376 was 545 rwhp. Figure the 427 has to be worth at least an extra 50 so you'd need about 14-15 psi to see the number you want. Like RDS said you'll have to really spin that blower to make that much boost. If its even possible. You'll most likely need the older blower in order to come close the the boost levels needed.

Dumb question, you are running through and auto correct? Wouldn't me being an M6 be worth maybe another 50hp which might get me pretty close to 650rwhp. I know there is a lot of speculation here, and I appreciate all of the help.

Yup. I didn't even consider that. I still think you'll be better off with the older style 2300. With rear overdriven cogs and a 8 rib (min) pulleys up front you'll have much more control of the boost.
