4cyl was intended for export markets versus the V6 which is not available in those cases. Ford simply made it an option for domestic buyers as some prefer n/a power and others prefer f/i.

80lb weight gain, 15 additional hp, 10 lbft additional torque.

Addition of ILIRS and DBJ front suspension, should make for a much better performing car than S197.

That's one thing that needs to be remembered, this is much more than S197 with 15hp/10tq increase. Thinking of it as such is a poor way to measure S550.

So the v6 will be slower, the eco will be faster than the v6's, and the 5.0 is pretty much the same.

How to hug your camaro
Buy the car that you would most like to get beat in. The other guy will always be faster.

True. Wonder what the MPG figures will be

Absolutely, I was just curious. Not judging it, as I know it's gonna be a MUCH better car all around. 80 pounds is quite respectable. I was thinking more like 200. I'm actually really impressed by what they've done with it. I'm just not sold on the exterior yet.

Ford is being conservative first year, this is nothing new really. When the 6th gen arrives, expect Ford to get more aggressive with the coyote it will have to imo.

if I had to choose between the 4 banger or v6 on the stang, i'd go with the turbo 4 10/10 times.

What no one has said is wether the EB's rating is the Global/Euro-spec rating or the US/Overboost rating.

Weight gain, IRS, minimal power bump....

Where is it going to land in quarter mile-ville?

...if you want to compare performance numbers, well, the GT500 retains it's title of the highest hp, worst performing car in the world.

I bet it lands around the same time as the previous 5.0, maybe slightly faster. With the added weight and IRS, the power bump probably won't help much.

yep... and i'm betting that 2.3 EB is going to be detuned from the factory! I loved my 2.0 EB in my ST, but just really never cared for the FWD though... so yeah, a 2.3 EB in a RWD car... yep, i would do that!

Just to give you an idea... here is the before and after with just a tune on my 2.0 EB...

Of course all the being said... i really don't care for the looks of the 15... LOL

Agreed! When i bought my Mustang in February, everyone asked me why I didn't wait for the 15... simple, i didn't like what i was seeing so far for the 15! And while i don't flat out hate the 15, i don't like it either... and love the looks of my 14!
