I think the retail vs fleet sales breakdown has more substance than people give it credit for. With the 2018 Mustang it looks like Ford is copying Chevrolet's business model of more options at a higher price point.

I'm surprised that 2017 model sales were strong given the mediocre incentives. Combining the $1000 bonus cash with $1500 loyalty ($2500 total incentives) that most of us qualify for, it really doesn't justify buying a 2017 model that's depreciated more than $2500 sitting on a lot for a year when a 2018 model is sitting right next to it. Unless they do better than this minor price reduction on $50,000 cars, it seems to be an better deal getting a 2018 model offering no incentives.

Most people are dummies that will fall for it.

One of the dealers near me has 1 2017 Camaro (a V-6 1LE car) which is $8,000 off.

Yes there are definitely large hidden factory to dealer incentives on the leftover 17's that in combination with the consumer rebates can make buying a 17 an amazing deal! My advice is shop around if you are in the market for a new Gen6...

BTW I have seen 1LS and 1LE V6 advertised over 9K off MSRP last month. That was with just a 1K consumer rebate and before any negotiating. Plus the rebates have increased in October. If you do the math that's an even better deal than last years 20% off Red Tag Sale!! There are definitely hidden dealer incentives on leftover 17's...Shop Around!!!

That is what I figured but I wasn't 100% sure.

I wonder what it looks like for the trucks lol, seems like all 3 are giving those things away lol

As discussed in my very first post, very satisfied with the deal I got on my 16 year old son's 1st 2017 Camaro RS ( approx $6200 off MSRP, Included $3500 in rebates, loyalty and even an educator discount). Dealer also worked a week to locate exactly what I wanted (couldn't find exact match in Ms) and picked it up for us at an Arkansas dealer. One thing I discovered when matching my sticker price on his 17 to an 18 just delivered at dealer about 50 miles from our home, A8 tranny is now standard on an 18, $1495 option on a 17. Might be a good bargaining point if dealing on a leftover 17. Rock on guys! Chevy Guy all my life!

1 LS comes with 6 speed manual as standard equipment and 1 LT comes with the A8... For 2018 the 1 LT package increased in price $100 while the 1 LS price remained the same.

I wonder how many of these sales were replacements for cars damaged by flooding (hurricanes)? I'm thinking people in southern Texas and Florida must prefer the Camaro to the Mustang and Challenger.
