U0100 code
Has anyone had this code pop up? If you did, what was the issue and how did you resolve it. I have this code popping up and it is keeping the car from running.

Loss communication with ECU....sounds serious enough to take it to the dealer in my book...

Which dealer? I would trailer it to Abel in Rio Vista. Best dealer in Nor Cal. They specialize in Corvettes and know the ZL1 as well. They have special pricing for the fast cars as well for service or performance work. Service Manager races a Zo6.

Probably a bad ECU.

Let me give a little background on this. I took the car in to a reputable shop that has done a bunch of ZL1's to have my cam, headers and a bunch of other things installed. This shop drops the whole motor and the front cradle when they do the work so they are not leaning over the car and everything is easier to get to. They can have the motor out of the car in about 1.5 hours. They removed the motor, installed all of the parts and reinstalled the motor. When they went to run it on the dyno is where the problem started. The car would run for a couple minutes and then everything would shut off. Dash would go dark and engine would die. Car would not start back up. If the car cooled down for a bit it would start back up and then die after it was warmed up. The shop went over all of the wiring in the car and could not figure out why the car wouldn't run. They ended up taking it to a Chevrolet dealership. They ran diagnostics on the car and they narrowed it down to the steering rack. They are saying that the steering rack is the cause for the car not running correctly because it is one of the things that communicates with the ECU. The shop doesn't believe this is the issue because the car ran fine when I brought it to them and they didn't do anything with the steering rack when they were installing the parts on the car. I guess I will be replacing the steering rack on the car even though the steering rack seems to be working fine.

Update: Well it turns out it was not the steering rack or a bad ECU or any grounds. It was my alarm. It was sensing that the ECU was being modified so it was shutting the car down. Not sure why the dealership was saying the steering rack needed to be replaced and that was causing the issue. Glad i didn't spent the $$$ on that and then I still would have had the issue.
