Saving $450 - Part II

Picked up car 1pm Friday 9.23. Magnaflow exhaust 11235 2pm. Yesterday I started my engine mods. Added InJen CAI. I wanted to get a GM engine cover painted silver to match soon to be added stripes, but decided I could do it myself. Check that - the Boss soon took over. She is expert when it comes to painting. A little tape goo left to cleanup but I will do that in 2 days after the paint fully hardens.
Pics are: prepped, in-home baked finish, curing, and 3 misc. finished shots.
Chromed to match my CAI, $450 in my pocket, priceless.

Looks like it needs a couple more coats to really cover.

I tried to do the chrome paint on the engine cover....I no longer have an engine cover on! It doesn't work all that well on the plastic.

Chrome spray paint just never has the shiny look of chrome. Wonder if some clear gloss would make a difference?

Yes - its not done yet. I was just excited to get it on and see it. I plan on covering with clear arcylic like a clear coat - did on fuse box cover. The black or darker spots are not black but shadow on how sun hits it at different angles. My kids think it looks cool so I am happy.

That's all that really matters. Enjoy it.
