As for the car... The new throttle body is installed along with the phenolic spacer Sean built and Alan tweaked. The bracket for the throttle cable is made and only needs to be painted. Corey has the new cable in hand and should have it installed in the next week or so.

Corey will tune the car and drive it for street tuning. After that he'll be trying some stuff with the clutch prior to pulling the trans and sending the clutch back.

Rob at RPS has stated he will swap the dual hub clutch out for the single hub clutch as well as seeing if he can create a bit more air gap when shifting. Corey told me the car will be ready of the Mile in March...

I'm at work offshore so I don't have any pictures yet but, the mechanical throttle is almost ready... the pedal is in, the throttle is mounted, and the cable is run... Corey just has a few tweaks to do and he'll be able to run the car a bit before putting her on the lift...

We'll pull the transmission and send the clutch to RPS to do a swap for a tweaked one. No one else is spinning this clutch 8300-8500 rpms.. least not that I know of... So we are getting one that has a single hub for the quad discs... and the air gap when it's depressed will be a bit bigger... This ought to release the discs fully allowing for the synchros to do what they are supposed to... allowing us to shift like she used to...

Corey is also going to set up the no lift shift in the ProEFI system which will require a bit of a relearn for me, I've never shifted without lifting... With this set up he can drag the rpms down a bit between gears to assist the synchros without losing too much boost... If I understood him correctly...

This is all leading up to... I've signed up for the April 1-3 running of the Texas Mile... and... I'm now fully licensed up to the unlimited class... No more limitations or windows to hit...

Shake down pass, then start turning the boost up and see what happens...

Most lazy truckers only use the clutch to take off, then float the shifts... Manual rev match, no clutch.
Too bad no one makes a heavy duty non-synchro transmission for your car.
two birds, one stone. Clutch stays engaged and no synchros to worry about.

I'll likely be out there that weekend! My boss & his son (who I'm close friends with) are running their Hellcat, CTS-V and Turbo Hayabusa. The Hayabusa they're looking to crack 200, which should be doable. It's just having big enough balls to do that on two wheels.

And this twilight zone watching was occurring while you herded cats down the interstate?

So we are getting closer. The mechanical throttle body, the homemade bracket and the cable are mounted. As can be seen in the pic below, we still have to make the final adjustment and mount the cinch nut.

The next step will be to drive the car to tune for low speed driving as well as to make a few high rpm hits to ensure nothing has changed up there in the stratospheric rpm range...

Following that we will pull the transmission and send the dual hub quad disc in to exchange it for a tweaked single hub quad disc.

The new clutch is supposed to have a bigger air gap so the discs fully separate during high rpm shifts. Additionally as mentioned before Corey will set up the no lift shift to drag the rpm's down just a hit during shifts. We will be looking to shift at 8300-8500 and we will drag the motor down to the 7000 rpm range for shifting... Enough to allow the clutch to do what it needs at the same time we prevent losing boost. Time will tell but we will get this sorted out...

Yes the blemish in the silicone coupler has been noted and we are going to change it out...

I did get a bit of other good news... ERL wants to do an article on Brandi... Should be fun... A rep from ERL is coming to the mile in late March, early April...
