Anyone know the closest access point to the reverse light from the radio on a 12. I have a factory backup camera split between my mirror and my aftermarket head unit but I need to wire the trigger for the camera which requires the hot reverse light wire. I don't really want to run a wire from tail lights to the radio, there has to be a closer access point to this right?

I don't think so.

I think your only choice is to tap into the reverse lights behind the bumper. You can access the harness if you remove the rear license plate.

I ran mine through the grommet behind the RR taillights, through the trunk, under the back seat, along the right side under the door, under the dash.

There is a DIY here in cosmetics and lighting. Sorry I didn't save the link.

The BCM controls the back-up lights. AFAIK, there is no wire behind the dash.

Just in case anyone else is wondering the BCM under the dash above the accelerator Gray connector pin 3 light green wire is what you are looking for instead of running a wire all the way from the interior.
