Can the lt1 go past it’s factory top speed with the right tire set up???

I’m just asking because I heard, respond to me disrespectfully ima roast you, debating if I should get the lt1 or ss I’m into roll racing don’t want a trim to heavy, I like that the Lt1 is lighter but I just don’t know if it can hit ss top speed numbers I heard with the tires they can but haven’t heard any results, thank you!

The LT1 is speed limited in the ECM due to the factory tires. Get a tune to bump the top speed and it will roll just as fast as a SS.

And get higher speed rated tires.

And it's not safe at those speeds on those tires which is why it's speed limited... Be careful out there...

Some michelin PS4S on each corner and a tune that eliminates the speed limiter will raise you top speed to SS top speeds. Also on a roll by 150 or 160, if you haven't made your point, it is pretty reckless to keep pushing, just my opinion.

^^^ this 2x. Your car will have a hard time pulling beyond 155-160 anyway, it has little power left by that point, so you want to end it before reaching these speeds no matter what.

As everyone says and you probably suspected, make SURE you get Y or (Y) rated tires before trying to go so fast. Finally, if you roll race on roads with traffic and intersections and sidewalks and traffic lights, you should rethink that immediately, but I'll assume you aren't doing these things.

Yup, tune will void the warranty. I hit the speed limiter twice in 2 years of ownership.

Simple. Put SS Tires on an LT1 with no spoiler and get a tune to open up your top speed to the SS number. It will get there a little faster with less drag and less weight and may go even faster than a stock SS.

What is the limiter on an LT1? I guess I'm not a crazy enough driver because I don't know what it is...

You're really going to roll race 150mph+? Seems stupid, especially knowing youre likely going to do it on the street.
