awesome, thanks for the good feedback of course being as big as the speedway is you could never not get full and i truly mean that. it would prob be hard to get a venue but there was the release of the 5th gen camaro there! didnt know about it in time, got there sunday when i heard it would still be going on but that was the wrap up date . Oreilly would have a better variety and still be big enough

Why not two Camarofest? A Camaro fest and a Camaro fest West, I remember back in the 80's Car Craft Magazine used to have the Street Machine Nationals and the Street Machine Nationals East. Both events turned out many attendees. The Street Machine Nationals was held west of the Mississippi. and the East well, east of the Mississippi.

Biggest thing to that it time.. Unless you get two whole different groups of people to plan the two separate events.

I learned a lot from the GTO clubs and their yearly convention, but they have multiple locations they do them at, each year is rarely the same location.

Yeah! I know what you mean, I was the original founder and first president of the Hudson Valley GTO Club in NY, I had to do alot of coordination with the National GTOAA and with Dave Barsky of the GTOAA of Greater NY, when we used to coordinate the meets in NJ back in the early 90's. But by having two venues would cover both ends of the country.

Unfortunately we can't wait too long to decide the next location. Most of these venues already have events scheduled through next year. Availability of the facility may play a big part in the final decision.

I'm telling you, the Mobile County Fair Grounds is wide open.

Doing a car show in Vegas would be like trying to hold a church service in the middle of a circus.

If we went to Reno we would own the town.

I think this is a better idea than Vegas. Also a cruise to Lake Tahoe and back could be organized.

Another idea..why not have one host city that may, or may not rotate...then encourage everyone who can't make it to have local meets the same weeked?

I would support that. It has to be in a fair location to provide a reasonable oppertunity for everyone to attend. I am willing to drive in fair weather, but not from one corner of North America to the other. However you will never please everybody. Won't happen.

I think an East -West fest could be a good thing , 2 fest's at the same time or roughly the same time and could be a battle of the fest's !

Here's another thought , although it was amazingly cool that the GM crew was at the fest and showed much support to the fest and the Camaro owners , It would be so much cooler if they would really support their customers by holding the fest themselves , say at the GM proving grounds or at least be true sponsors of the fest , would be a great way for them to give back a little to their loyal customers , How about it GM , what you say

I'd be more in favour of a single C5 fest, in a different region each year. South east for 2010, maybe out west next year, north east after that, then south west, and so on. Or keep going to the same place each and every year. Make it our home.

While it would be cool for it to be hosted at Milford or something, I doubt GM would go that far for us. I'm thinking it would cause more of a headache for them than they would gain in PR.
