DO NOT think twice about this. We are talking about a car here. Good luck and it will happen when the time is right. You are doing what you need to do. Good for you!

That really stinks. I don't think you will have a problem. If the dealer is a reputable one, he will find another buyer and give you your money back. I have heard of a this happening a few other places and the dealers have resold the car, some the same day. If they can do that for you, they should give you your $2,000 back.

Don't worry about it, nobody loves Camaros like me and my 3 year old son. We had to forgo the 2012 but we have our for the 2013 Vert. Let it go, get things straight and look ahead to 2013.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement. I know it's the right thing to do, it was just a REALLY hard decision to make. Damn GM for making a nearly irresistible car lol! It is just a car, I was talking to my mom on the phone earlier which helped to, she basically said things have a way of coming back around and usually cheaper too, which I know is true. She's one smart lady!

Is this still true if they write "non-refundable deposit" on the invoice and it has been signed?

I can see the dealer having to return the money if nothing is stated and signed.

depending on what state you live in "non-refundable" will not stand up in court. in some states it is down right illegal. even though they all still say it.

never ever trust a car dealers outright word. I have had them tell me so many lies. you have to buy and extended waranty to get a better intrest rate, deposties are non-refundable (not in oregon), MSRP is what we pay for the car, etc etc.

what I would do is just try to line somone up to take over the allocation cause that seems fair. I don't know you you put the deposite down I used my credit card because you can dispute the charge and your credit card company has plenty of lawyers on your side.

sorry to hear you have to give the car up though.

Don't ever remember a thread with 100% agreement. That should tell you something. Do what you have to do,and I also believe things happen for a reason. What goes around comes around-you and those that matter most to you are what count NOW. ALL the BEST from a Camaro bro-keep the FAITH!

Hasen't even been BUILT yet.

OP I say you go and get your money back. You gave a deposit for a car that doesn't exist. Tell them to cancel the order.

I am sorry you had to bail. Is the deal at MSRP? LESS? MORE? That infor would be helpful and avoid a lot of PMs.
