ANYONE order Victory RED WIth carbon hood !!!!

I would really like to see what my car is going to look like now that I was unable to order it the way i really wanted. After waiting more than year and a half ON the positive I saved money not adding stripes and getting the carbon at no additonal charge.

I'm in the same boat as you my friend. I ordered the painted insert with the black stripe because to me that looks killer, but now have to change my order to the exposed so I can get built! I would also like to see what the VR with the ECF looks like...

I did and sit at 2030 with no movement......frustration does not describe what I feel. Dealer gets info direct from area GM rep which is in full contradiction to what those "in the know" on this board are saying.

I as well read that orders similiar to mine are being picked up today......

My dealer expressed the same frustration with GM re ZL1 ordering as well.

A local dealer in the Houston area has one, but the pics they uploaded on Cars.com are not great:

http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...nal&listType=1

I saw the car up close and personal and it looked good. The only thing that really disappointed me were the polished wheels. Most of the wheel is painted and they look VERY VERY dull.....at least under the dealer's showroom lights. I don't understand why they didn't polish the entire wheel.

Since I don't like black wheels, I'm hoping for a better polished or chrome wheel option for 2013.

I assumed they were giving us 2013 owners-to-be a $600 credit because carbon fiber will no longer be offered. Are you guys thinking they're giving the credit because carbon fiber is now standard? I never understood Chevy's explanation of the changes.
BTW, I ordered mine in victory red with ECF.

I like both the current wheels. Any shinier will be too flashy for me. I am surprised they're not offering chromed wheels though; the Corvettes have them.

I'm confused. I thought it was the guys that ordered the ECF that had their orders delayed. I ordered the painted black hood insert with the black stripe option. Are these the cars that are being delayed and I had it backwards?

Ok for the final time:

When ordering first opened back in Fall/Winter time frame both the exposed carbon fiber insert and the matte black one were available for order.

THEN

GM found/discovered an issue with the supply chain on the EXPOSED Insert and placed it on Constraint. GM (Thru FBodfather and the dealers) suggested that those who already ordered a ZL1 with the exposed insert should switch to the matte black one if they didn't want their order delayed. No new orders after this point could have the exposed insert as a part of the order

This constraint was also placed on new orders after this point.

THEN

GM resolved the issue with the supplier. They lifted the constraint on the exposed insert. However, they noted that since the demand for the exposed far exceeded the matte wrapped on that they expected the supplier to focus on supplying the exposed insert so that COULD lead to the matte wrapped one moving to a constraint.

THEN

GM produced the first lot of cars before the QC hold. Most of these had matte wrapped inserts but a few had the exposed insert as GM had a limited quantity of them.

THEN

GM put the cars in QC hold and produced no new ZL1s. While this was happening, the supplier more than likely continued to manufacture the Exposed insert as GM would have probably indicated the approximate amount that they would need.

THEN

GM released the hold, shipped the first batch of cars, and has recently begun producing ZL1s again. Since they were/are now producing the bulk of orders with exposed it was expected that the matte would hit a constraint as they depleted their stock when the occasional ZL1 called for the matte wrapped insert.

I started hearing that as in the last few weeks that NO NEW orders (from C5 members and some of the sponsors and dealers that post here) could be placed with the Matte insert and that if you were above order status 2000 you were still good to go if you had the matte wrapped insert as GM had enough parts to produce those vehicles.

GM also announced somewhere in here something about the insert credit but I don't know the details on it or how it works.

This is where we stand at the moment.

Hope this helped.
