GM has no fix for this issue as of yet, and it isnt looking like it will be resolved anytime soon either.

Picked up the car...to be honest, just frustrated now w/ the dealership. They gave me the o'le since that those corner pieces are also listed as defective from manufacturing, we can't fix that either. So I am stuck with a hideos looking (IMO) leather dash trim, with a part that will bubble up in time, only to hope GM issues a fix. On top of it, they washed the car when I asked not to wash it, but didn't even clean the dirt from their hands which is all over the new dash panel. Two trips to the dealer, with today being completely pointless and a waste of my time and money (gas). No compensation, nothing...just heres the door, enjoy!
Side note: I did finally get in contac with the service manager who happened to have taken the day off, sadly she had a loss of someone close to her. I really didn't feel like troubling her day anymore with what was going on with the service techs.

If you buy a VOLT and have a problem, GM calls you back at all hours of the day and night & sends someone the next day to make it go away. They overnight all parts and offer to wipe your butt while your car is being fixed. They have a dedicated team in place to make sure owners of their rolling fireball stay happy. I know; I own one. I realize that if the Volt sold as well as the Camaro, they'd tell me to piss-off. But it proves GM can make problems go away very, very fast when it wants to. GM is retiring the Avalanche after this year. If they can't get it right, GM needs to take a long, hard look at the convertible Camaro. |

I'm just jealous that you guys got the diagnostic reports and all from onstar! I never got anything, and my wife's onstar never worked in her 12 Malibu :-(

Was it ever activated by the dealer and did you complete the activation at delivery?

No GM car is allowed to leave the dealer's lot without OnStar Registration. NONE. OnStar is activated by the dealer when it is received, and then registered to the owner/lessee when it is delivered.
All you can do is call OnStar and cancel it yourself AFTER you've taken possession of the car and the system's been registered to you. But why bother? It's free for a year. Unless you don't like them listening to your cabin conversations or timing your speed. The Monthly Vehicle Diagnostic Report is convenient, but it's also a nag to get you back to the dealer for service, take out low-mileage car insurance, buy Hands-Free calling minutes, and upgrade to Directions & Reservations. They told me my dash isn't bubbling. |

You have to sign up for the Reports; they're not sent automatically without an Agreement. You push the Blue Button and ask to receive them monthly by email. You're also agreeing to receiving "Important information and offers of value to GM Customers."

I agreed and gave my email address when I set up service with onstar (leaving the lot) but never recived an email report. It's no big, just showed me that I didn't need it anyway.

I think that some 12's has a software glitch that it needs reprogramming. But if you and you wife don't care about it not working then I guess it's not a big deal until you sell it.
