My dad said this was normal with a new engine, but I don't think so.
Should never happen. Take to dealer ASAP

Send a message via AIM to espo19047
Next time it stalls hit the OnStar and have them run a remote diagnostic. They will be able to get a code for you to give to service and tell you if it is safe to drive or not.

Update: The problem was the car dying while idling or driving slow. This happened six times in the three weeks I've had the car (an automatic LT1) I can confirm that the last time it happened it was just the engine, not the electrical system.

My dealer's service department kept the car for two days (talk about separation anxiety!). They said they checked everything on the engine and the car's computer, but couldn't find any cause for the problem. They then reset the computer, so hopefully that will solve the problem.

By the way, the loaner the dealer gave me was an '09 Impala. I can attest that the Impala can do 0-60 in just under 10 minutes. It sure is nice to have my car back and some power under the hood again!

fyi - u do have an early VIN, regardless of what anyone tells u. u have 4345th 5th generation Camaro produced. congrats on that!

if i were you, i'd contact ur dealer and request a copy of your Workbench and Build Sheet. they can print off both in no time!

the Workbench will show you the date ur Camaro was ordered and the date that each event code changed, including the day it was built. and the build sheet will show all the codes used to build it. i'll bet $$$$ that on ur build sheet, there's an R6P "early order activity" code.

I would go to Autozone first and get my battery checked. Maybe you got a bad one from the factory.
