Continental ContiSportContact?

Anyone have experience with Continental Contisport Contact 5 or 5P tires? One of the only 285/35ZR20 tires I can find besides Pilot Sports. I feel the Michelin would be a better bet for my 1LE but my friends dad works for Continental and I may be able to get 35-50% off those.

I should mention I drive "spirited" on the road but really don't track the car. I have the original good years on it and have about 12,000 miles on the car but they are BALD!!! I want wet/dry performance and tread life.

I don't recall too many 1LE'ers running any Conti's. Have you searched 1LE forum for Continental users?

Lots of 285's out there, tho. Are you needing 1 tire for all year; like a UHP A/S for Rain/Snow/Warm months combined? I think those Conti's are a max performance summer spec.

Or, are you swapping tires between cold and warm weather?

Also, Michelin is phasing out the PSS and has replaced them with an improved version called the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S

I have only had a positive experience with the Extreme Contact DWS. In that size, there is also the Toyo Proxes T1 Sport (what I personally use on my street set) and the Pirelli P-Zero; both are summer performance. If you can source them, there is also the Toyo Proxes R888 and Hankook Ventus RS-3 - not really recommended based on your input and application.

I only have a V6, but I'm running the 5p in that size. I have done some very spirited driving and have really pushed the tires and they perform very well. I've only driven it once in the rain with them, but they seemed to manner well on wet pavement.

Extreme Contact DWS is what many of the Corvette guys in Michigan run. I also had a good friend that worked for Continental and he recommended the Extreme Contact DWS. Your father probably knows my friend as he recently passed away from cancer at a young age.

We have the Extreme Contact DWS on the wife's V6 convertible and they have been wonderful tires. Definitely no complaints here and been great in wet/dry performance and the thread life has been way better then the original tires.

Im sitting at 496/451 and have bfg's comp2 A/S. Love these tires especially with the huge price difference between the conti's vs bfg's!

Switched to Michelin PSS at about 8K. Still have decent tread at 33k. Best tires I have ever owned. Handle well and hook pretty well for my power level.

Buddy was posting great track times using Continental ExtremeContact Sport. They are a new tire with good reviews. 340 treadwear. Comparable to MPSS, which is now superseded by the Pilot Sport 4S.
