dealers don't buff out cars before sale unless there was a scratch.

It looks like the stirrer in the spray gun was not working right when the facia was done. Remember the facia is painted at the manufacturer not at the factory where the car is built. I have sprayed metalic paints before and if the stirrer is not working right that is what it looks like. I painted my trunk deck on a 78 caddy that I was restoring and it looked fine in daylight but at night it looked like I used a can o paint to do it. Had to redu the entire lid a second time making sure the metalics were evenly disbursed. I would think that if it was buffed thru the clear there would be some evidence on the adjacent hood. This is also my understanding. Some of the IOM have had issues with the facia not matching the car. This looks like one that got past QC unless it was scratched during shipping and the dealer did a terrible job of fixing it. Either way, don't do anything to it. If you try waxing or rubbing it, the dealer can say you are the one that caused the damage. Don't touch it, take it to the dealer as soon as possible.
Try getting better pics also. Looks like a dark spot in the shots, something on the lense?

I can't tell much from the pics, but on the GTOs it was pretty common for them to get cloudy blotches in the paint, where moisture would get trapped during shipping. Often the dealer could use a heat gun to get those cloudy spots out without having to repaint anything. But I can't tell if that's what you have or not.

It's not a big deal. When I worked at a dealership, we would take the new cars to go on food runs all the time. And yes, we would eat in them as well.

As mentioned above, and no doubt elsewhere on the site, the fascia and the gas lid are painted separately, not in the same paint shop that paints the camaro.

It is pretty impossible for it too match 100% when it is different material being painted, different process, etc.

The cars go through large furnaces to cure the different layers of primer, paint, clear/topcoat, so you can't really have them all together.

Being a painter myself, I find the answers in this thread hilarious (except for a few that I can tell have actually painted a car before). Two possibilities- it blushed when they painted it (moisture trapped under the clear- this happens in humid conditions) or the basecooat color is just thin- I vote the 2nd option. This type of defect is covered under your warranty. Take it to a GOOD dealership body shop and have them look at it- skip over the sales and service department, you never know what those guys might do with it.
