Very well said Fred,

From the moment I saw the ZL1 and ZLE and had the opportunity to visit with a few of the camaro engineers at Barrett Jackson,
I kept saying to myself, they actually built this thing

That’s all it took, I ordered one the day after I got home.
So yes, they are VERY special,

Not to mention the perma-grin every time I take her for a spin.
The rest, just isn’t important to me

If you can duplicate (or exceed) the performance, styling, technology, cooling, and a factory new warranty of the ZL1 for the same dollars, you should buy whatever that car is. I think after all of your research you'll come to same conclusion that we all did...You can't, so the new ZL1 it is!! There are corvettes on virtually every road. Buy something that few else have. Join the 6th gen ZL1 owners club!!

No. Absolutely no regrets after buying a 2018 ZL1 convertible earlier this month. The value is unbeatable. Buy a ZL1 and enjoy it!!

I felt regret after buying my 2018. I thought I made too hasty of a decision. I’ve had many Corvettes over the years and I really felt like I was settling for a Camaro. One year later I’m back into another ZL1. I like this car better than the Z06, period. Money and opinions of others aside, to me it’s just flat out a better car.

I have zero regrets selling my 2013 ZL1 M6 and buying my 2017 ZL1 A10. I was worried about going to an automatic, but I just love the A10. As far as the rest of the car, the 6th gen is better than the 5th gen in every way. If I had a regret, it would be getting the 2013 ZL1 over the 2013 GT500 I was debating.

While this thread has been completely discussed. I think the question was, did ZL1 disappoint in its exclusivity and total performance.

But I was wondering if anyone has regretted purchasing a ZL1 because of its excessive power? As in too much power than anyone can use for its intended purpose?

For instance, I had a friend who was all about horsepower and beating the next driver at the light. He was always asking me to look up the power levels of other cars he came across on the street (to compare them to his current Procharged Camaro). He order a 2012 5th. Gen ZL1. When the 6th Gens came out I asked him what he still thought about his ZL1. He said not to buy one, that his was always loosing traction spinning the wheels. He seems to infer is was literally too much power for the street.

So, does anyone regret the purchase of a ZL1 because it was too much for their needs?

You can smoke the tires in an SS if you don’t have good tires and you don’t know how to best launch it in a drag race. If you’re worried about drag racing you can always run a drag radial. Makes a huge difference in launching the car. Horse power is fun... no gettin around that. The more the better. Just my opinion.

1hprush.....do I have to start a NEW thread to get my pics? Weird, thought I could ad to existing post since it usually is a reply to questions or requests to hear or see someone's car.

The short answer is No
