Top speed with open sunroof?
Hello,
The sunroof can be loud. How fast is too fast to drive with it open or vented? I don't like the noise, and I remember reading somewhere that a portion of another user's sunroof had failed after driving at high speeds with it open. Any info? |

I actually forgot I even had a sunroof till I read this.
A bit unrelated, but the fastest I got with my window down was 120 and it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it'd be.

The quote I posted earlier was from someone who was driving with the sunroof closed. I'm not as worried about the seal failing while it's closed, I probably won't ever drive that fast. I'm more curious about what else could fail with it open or vented while driving at higher speeds.
I thank you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Is it under warranty? DRIVE IT! If it fails let GM fix it, they should have taken that into account when they designed it.

The reason for the sunroof being open should be obvious! What part don't you get?! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'm sure its fine. Lots of very fast cars have sun roofs. Mercedes do and go on the Autobahn. They also Camaros in Germany.

dude your not going to screw up anything lol.... they made the sunroof to handle high speeds... people have the sunroof open all the time... this is something i have never heard in my life. because people know thats what sunroofs are design for. plus you shouldn't be going that fast anyways

I no this doesn't have much to do with the OP, but, I had a 2002 Turbo S Beetle, and the sunroof would automatically shut at 100mph.....
