Best Cold Air intake with no tune
I'm on a limited budget and want to purchase a cold air intake for my '10 SS/RS L99. I can't afford to get a tune at this point so I am searching for a cold ait intake that I can install without needing a tune. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The no tune vararam is ok the vararam you need a tune to use is very good. I like the CAI intake for looks and for what you get from it with no tune. Do a search on the form JRE did a nice right up on cold air intakes.

RotoFab or CAI are 2 very popular ones on this site, neither require a tune. I have the RotoFab and love it.

Not wanting to void my warranty and spending months researching the best one on the market i found is the CAI intake and grabbed a scoop as well. Think auto agenda has a sale on em right now too.

Cold Air Inductions is what I have and I love it! 2nd and 3rd choices would be the ADM Performance one and the Rotofab Intake.

i was torn between vararam and CAI but since vararam does not fit the 2012 I went with CAI.
I am 100% happy with my CAI. Can't say it gives a lot of power as I have no way of telling. But throttle response is night and day and it definitely feels faster. Really wakes up the sound of the motor as well. Clean look and easy install. Will be adding a scope later. |

Halltech makes as much as CAI, at least per the Jannetty tests, has a great design and $70 less. I'm looking at that one.
That being said I've read alot here and in mag tests along with my experiances over the years and the big dyno #s dont always translate to real seat of the pants road feel. Injen long tube gets 8 hp only but if like the one I had on the v6 probably respond better due to the cold air it gets down low,Fastlanes has one like it and it was faster then ALL the rest. So get the one you like the best and $ I guess, but I would go with folks who post up their real world experiences and if they really felt anything. |

all the one listed here will do fine. honestly its a funny debate when talking about CAI or most bolt ones. people will always tell you what they have or what they sell is the best.
again any of the ones listed here are going to work GREAT. |
