Devil's advocate: They don't sign up for the discount, so are they entitled to one? The fact that a global, multi-billion dollar company offers a discount like this is good on them. The main point of something like this would be to ensure that vets are able to more easily afford vehicles when they come home, and that is accomplished. ZL1 is a luxury vehicle, nobody NEEDS a ZL1.

By the military discount program are you talking about the $500 discounted price that some Chevrolet vehicles have for Service members?

Go to USAA.com. $750 for military. All kinds of cars are covered, not the ZL1, and not just GM.

No one forgets our volunteers, LEO's, FF's, EMT's, Police, ect...but that's apples and oranges. Our military's primary objective is to kill our enemy. Kill or be killed. Be it by air/drone or hand-to-hand. This is all done for our freedom. Corporate America owes our troops more than just a thank you. If our military vet's dream car, as is mine, just happens to be a superior street legal menacing mean machine like the ZL1, corporate America shouldn't deny that and not cut them a break in price. We have the finest, best trained military in the world, and the ZL1 is the automotive equal, who more than one of of veterans should be sitting behind the wheel. Hoorah! to our military, but not to corporate America. And please just take a moment of prayer for those in our military who made the ultimate sacrifice. Rest in peace my brothers and sisters. Amen.

Truth be told, I had no idea the ZL1 was excluded from any sort of military discount program in the first place.

GM wasn't terribly forthcoming with any GI-oriented anything when we got our 2SS either. (That might be for an unrelated matter I guess...our Camaro is sort of a novelty edition...)

I'd sure question the practicality of some pay grades having a ZL1 (mine being one of them!) but hey, that's certainly not a viable excuse for a corporation to not to at least offer a discount...

There wasn't a discount for the ZL1 using USAA. I couldn't get any discounts, not even loyalty discounts for it. I could for pretty much anything else. They said the car is too rare and too much in demand.

I am not in the military, but appreciate everything you do for our country and think you should get a discount on everything you buy, not just from GM!

Not every business agrees, especially in military towns. I appreciate the thanks though. Not everyone is eligible to join, and I know a lot of people who would take a bullet that can't go out there. It's an honor to go to sea on your behalf.

What I am disappointed in is GM. This will come accross to some of you as whining, but so be it. I currently serve in the military and am buying a ZL1. GM, I believe, is making a mistake in not offering this awesome car within its' Military Discount program. I know that the car will sell no matter what, but there are A LOT of sales that would be bolstered by the Military Discount program. The Corvette is offered... Just my thoughts...

OK, flame on, I can take it.

Again mine is ordered.
Here is my fire, if the vette is discounted get the vette.

First let me say thank you to all of you for your military service. Secondly, this discount is generally the "preferred price". This is the same as what suppliers pay and employees. The ZL1 is currently excluded from a discount for anyone...its a matter of a policy GM has on this particular car...I hope you all realize it isn't just the military that isn't getting a discount.

Veterans can always visit the website below if they have a question about discounts.
