ON Star Antenna Problem?
Has anyone else noticed a gap(between the base of the antenna and the roof of the car) under the shark fin On Star antenna? Worried about leaks!

08 Accords had a similar issue, and yes they leaked.

Undestand you would like photos but am not at home right now. I thought that if you had a Camaro with an On Star antenna you could look and see if you had a gap between the roof and the antenna.

No gap at all, checked all the way around and its flush and tight. Washed mine about 4 times so far, no leak.

I looked and there is a small gap under it (looking from the drivers side .. it is apparent I can see light coming in from the other side ).. I took pics that I will post but I don't know if it will show or not ..

Here you go, you can see where it is not quite touching the roof .. I'll have to take this by the dealer and see what they think .. thoughts?

This is exactly the same as mine (looking from the drivers side)the gap starts about an inch and a half to two inches from the rear of the antenna. It looks like it re-attaches toward the front of the antenna. i am going to the dealer when i get home and have them look at it. Probable nothing...just worried about water leaks. Have had 3 Chevys with On Star and this is the first I have seen like this.

We would have to see what's under it. They tested it with water so it should be sealed under that.

I thought there was a gasket that the "guts" bolted down to and then the black cover is there just to cover everything up. Over time, though, the gasket can deteriorate and will need replacing. Unfortunately, I bet the tell-tale sign that your gasket needs replacing is a water stain on the head liner.
