BHVRDR 2010 Camaro SS Build Thread ...

Hello All,

This is the build of my recently purchased 2010 Camaro SS, 2SS, AT6 (L99). I purchased this car used from a local Chevrolet dealership. It was taken in on a trade and had only 45K miles on it. This car is an extra car that is going to be used for road course HPDE days, some fun ¼ mile test’n tune days to track performance changes, and for weekend drives.

The car started out completely stock.

JULY 15, 2016 - BLOWER INSTALLED – ALL ELSE STOCK – 9PSI BOOST

Installed was the following:

TVS1900 LSA/Eaton Supercharger - ZL1 Lid
2.75” Blower Pulley
ZL1 52lb Injectors
ZL1 Fuel Pump
ADM ZL1 Programmed FPCM
Roto Fab ZL1 Intake
2.5” Custom Catback Exhaust with Magnaflow Straight Through Mufflers

Performance Data:

Dyno: DynoMite, Redline Motorsports, Pompano Beach, FL
Output: 424whp/442wtq

¼ Mile Testing: Palm Beach International Raceway July 29, 2016 (21ft, 86 deg F, 30.03inHg, 67% RH)

DA: +1986 feet
60ft: 1.934
ET: 12.535
Trap Speed: 110.72 mph

Notes: The installer/tuner tuned the car on the 2.5” blower pulley with the K061015 belt on the car. There was massive belt slip. The car was making 11psi until mid-range in the powerband when the blower belt slipped down to 8psi by the 6000rpm redline. The tuner claimed this was the natural boost curve of the TVS1900 supercharger. Obviously this is not the case. The 2.75” pulley was put on the vehicle with the appropriate K061010 belt and it now made 9psi from 2000rpm to redline.

AUGUST 6, 2016 - TVS1900 BLOWER – SP HEADERS and HFC – 9PSI BOOST

Installed was the following:

TVS1900 LSA/Eaton Supercharger - ZL1 Lid
LSA Heat Exchanger
2.75” Blower Pulley
ZL1 52lb Injectors
ZL1 Fuel Pump
ADM ZL1 Programmed FPCM
Roto Fab ZL1 Intake
Stainless Power 1 7/8” Headers with High Flow Cats
2.5” Custom Catback Exhaust with Magnaflow Straight Through Mufflers

Performance Data:

¼ Mile Testing: Palm Beach International Raceway August 12, 2016 (21ft, 87.1 deg F, 29.99inHg, 65% RH)

DA: +2101 feet
60ft: 1.873
ET: 12.511
Trap Speed: 110.75 mph

Notes: No significant change in performance was noted from adding the headers. There may be a 10hp difference but it is not enough to note any change/reduction to boost pressure (the vehicle is still making 9psi) and no appreciable difference in trap speed was noted. The car is much louder and a straight through resonator with x-pipe is to be installed to quiet it back down.

AUGUST 19, 2016 - TVS1900 BLOWER – SP HEADERS and HFC – 11PSI BOOST

Installed was the following:

TVS1900 LSA/Eaton Supercharger -ZL1 Lid
LSA Heat Exchanger
2.5” GripTec Blower Pulley
ZL1 52lb Injectors
ZL1 Fuel Pump
ADM ZL1 Programmed FPCM
Roto Fab ZL1 Intake
Stainless Power 1 7/8” Headers with High Flow Cats
2.5” Custom Catback Exhaust with Magnaflow Straight Through Mufflers

Performance Data:

¼ Mile Testing: Palm Beach International Raceway August 19, 2016 (21ft, 87.1 deg F, 29.99inHg, 65% RH)

DA: +2101 feet
60ft: 1.849
ET: 12.186
Trap Speed: 113.33 mph

Notes: With the 2.5” pulley installed the car now makes 11psi from 2000rpm to the 6000rpm redline. Knock remains in check at less than a degree but ignition timing is low between 7 to 10 degrees at WOT likely related to IATs that range from 46C to 66C (115F to 151F) over the course of a ¼ mile run. The wideband AFR gauge was installed and AFR is noted to hover around 12.5:1 give or take .3. Next item to address is to increase cooling (consider AFCO heat exchanger with fans) and retune to provide richer AFR.

SEPTEMBER 2, 2016 - INSTALLED VORSTEINER V-FF 101 with MICKEY THOMPSON STREET COMP 275/305

Weight savings compared to stock 20": 7 lbs per corner front, 5lbs per corner rear

SEPTEMBER 7, 2016 - INSTALLED ROTO-FAB (LPE) SUPERCHARGER COOLANT RESERVOIR

Performance Data:

¼ Mile Testing: Palm Beach International Raceway September 9, 2016 (21ft, 86 deg F, 30.01inHg, 72% RH)

DA: +2036 feet
60ft: 1.801
ET: 11.989
Trap Speed: 115.03 mph

NOTES: During prior track visits the 1/4 mile runs showed IATs starting at 46C and ending at 66C (115F to 151F) for a full run in similar weather (within a degree and within 100DA). During today's runs the IATs started at 48C and ended at 58C (118F to 136F) after a full run. This shows an approximate 10C (15F) reduction in maximum temps. It should be noted that Lucas Super Coolant was added with the new 4 liter Roto Fab reservoir and the standard DexCool mixture was reduced from 50/50 mix to approximately 30/70 coolant/distilled water mix. This may have confounded the results.

SEPTEMBER 15, 2016 - INSTALLED AFCO DUAL PASS HEAT EXCHANGER (w/o FANS)

Testing to come

SEPTEMBER 23, 2016 - INSTALLED ATI 6% OVERDRIVE CRANK PULLEY - 12PSI TOTAL (+1 PSI)

Installed was the following:

TVS1900 LSA/Eaton Supercharger - ZL1 Lid
2.5” Blower Pulley - ADM - Griptec
ATI 8.19" 6% Overdrive Crank Pulley
ZL1 52lb Injectors
ZL1 Fuel Pump
ADM ZL1 Programmed FPCM
Roto Fab ZL1 Intake
Roto Fab 1.1 Gallon Supercharger Coolant Reservoir
AFCO Dual Pass Heat Exchanger (w/o fans)
Stainless Power 1 7/8” Headers with High Flow Cats
2.5” Custom Catback Exhaust with Magnaflow Straight Through Mufflers

Performance testing to come
