17/18 Z/28?

Hey Guys,

So I know the 2017 ZL1 was just announced. What's the consensus on the Z/28? Is there room for one or does the new ZL1 take the place of both cars?

What do you think?

Thanks,

DM

I'm hoping there will be no Z/28. I will welcome one if there is, but hoping for none.
Exclusivity.

I am going to buy the new ZL1. Stablemate for the Z/28. I will just have to learn to live with giant cow catcher grill.

If they do, I think it will be a Z28 and not a Z/28 like they did for 3 generations..

I say no Z28. Chevy will limit it like the Boss 302 for Ford. 1LE & ZL1 are sooo good they won't need it.

7.0L N/A LT might be cool. Add the the $12,000 brakes and bingo.

thinking the ZL1 will not need a "Z/28" model as competition because of the 1LE as mentioned above...carbon ceramics may be an option on the ZL1... who knows?

I think that you will see something similar to the Vette.

The Z06 has an additional Z07 package. I think the ZL1 will have a Z28 package once they get closer to production. If it's not something like that I will be unlikely we'll see a Z/28 for a while.

I hope they don't make anymore. They killed the market by producing so many for 2015 and can't even sale them.

I hope they don't either. However I disagree that they killed the market by making too many in 2015. What they did was fail to market the car properly.
And.....that is probably because they made too few of them and it wasn't cost effective to market this car in the manner it deserved.
Even today the rumor persists among the general car enthusiast population, that this car is not streetable and is just a track car.
This rumor obviously hurts sales.

I hope they do. ZL1 is too heavy to get most out of the new platform, and 1LE is too much of a compromise for an all-out track car. I wonder what would be the engine, though.

With so many gen 5 Z28s still in dealer showrooms and not selling, I think GM will be hard pressed to make gen 6 Zs.

My guess is that it will be an option package for a 1LE in 2018 as opposed to a separate model.

I'm not sure there are still so many unsold cars left.

there might be used ones out there that people bought and are trying to resell for a profit because of the limited production of there cars.

I would bet that Chevrolet has sold everyone built, just because a dealer is still trying to sell a car for over cost doesn't mean that chevrolet hasn't sold it, it's the dealer speculating on someone wanting to pay over sticker price for a car that is no longer produced.

I would think we will see a gen6 Z/28 in the future.

Just my thought
