FBI pushing for web-tapping
http://news.cnet.com/8301-1009_3-574...web-sites-now/
"The FBI is asking Internet companies not to oppose a controversial proposal that would require firms, including Microsoft, Facebook, Yahoo, and Google, to build in backdoors for government surveillance." Read the article for more details. Really? Is this really what we have come to? Is Mahmoud Ahmadinejad going to check in at his supposed nuclear facility on Foursquare or something? |

If it fell under wiretap laws any surveillance would require a warrant. So....stop committing criminal activity?

New legislation isn't written to keep everything the same. I am not involved in any criminal activity, but I oppose building back doors into private information specifically to make it easier for the FBI to access it, especially if it is already covered under wiretap laws. If you're not doing anything illegal, I'm sure you wouldn't be opposed to putting a few cameras in your house, right? |

I'm sure they won't mind having a sensor on their cars that writes them an automatic ticket every time they did do something wrong either.
