How to Deprogram a keyfob
Hi, recently my gf lost her key fob for the car and the chances of us getting it back seems very slim. I know how to program a new key fob as I did it for that specific key, but does anyone know how to Deprogram it?
Thanks |

I think you needed to do it when you were programming the new key. There are 2 methods. One for just programming a new (additional) key that is very quick. The second method adds a new key but also clears out all the old keys and takes 30 minutes or so to complete.

Same part but different thought. Do you believe I just got about the 50th recall
notice for my factory key upgrade. Never will do it on my '10 SS. Keeping it just the way I got it over 10 years ago.

I love the switchblade key, I just wish my Cruze didn't have an identical key, but whatever. My car already had the recall done when I bought it, so I did what most of us do and got a new fob, swapped the key blade over to the new one and programmed it. I made sure when I took the car to the dealer last year to give them the recall key. The Camaro and Corvette should have their own unique keys.

I remember one GM vehicle I added a key to, cleared out any other keys that weren't also redone at the same time. Found that out when one that previously worked didn't anymore. You might be able to just buy another key then progam it and your done. I don't feel like googling it for you so either you can search or someone might remember exactly and type it up for you.
