What Would You Like To See On Your HUD
I love my HUD and Driver Information Center. Some times I fell like they are missing something.
1. If you could pic the thing to display on the HUD and DIC, what would you want to see. 2. They are fine the way they are. Who needs G-Force anyhow? 3 They are a distraction and it would be OK with me if HUD or the DIC or both are gone.

Add a boost gauge!
That would be great for racing anyway. |

HUD's cool I guess. I've been driving my car around for 3 years without it so I haven't really missed it.

The 2010-2011 speedo font is so bad that I never trained myself to look at the actual speedometer. To answer the OP's question, I think an automatically-switching display would be great. For instance, keep the speedometer and RPM constant (but maybe remove the animated analog tach..it's kind of choppy on a dot-matrix LCD) and just have a digital RPM readout instead.... The switching/cycling part would alternately display coolant temp, trans temp, voltage, oil temp, oil pressure. Maybe the bottom 3rd of the screen could be dedicated to infotainment--NAV directions/arrows, radio station and RDS/XM text. And, of course, keep the outside temp pegged in one of the corners. And, as tacky as this sounds, maybe include an eco gauge. Not that it really belongs on these cars, but it becomes a mental exercise if you are actually trying to save fuel on mundane commutes, etc. And then, include a "performance" mode. Maybe a very large animated tach, large font speedo, with a shift light of sorts, like it blinks in rapid succession when it's time to shift at redline. |

not a fan of how the tach comes up, would rather see a bar like the vettes than a roundish gauge that looks like something out of Need for Speed from 10 years ago.
1/4 mile time 0-60 time G force AFR trans/engine temp trip odometer fuel gauge any idiot light that comes up on the dash should also have an icon in the HUD, or at the very least something that comes up and says "check gauges" if something is amiss. and multi-color, red/green/blue would be nice, so you have big ass red alerts in front of you as opposed to behind the curve of the steering wheel to wit I can't see most of them anyway.. ah hell just put everything that was in iron mans helmet and I'm good. |

I wish I had a HUD. :(
I would want it to pull up a picture of my car when it started up and then greet me like it's KITT and Im Michael Knight. I'd love to see it tell me lots of performace stats that would be useful at different tracks.
