Ok, so I see four choices:

1) D-bag trying to trick you into screwing up.
2) Gear head having some fun
3) Emergency call - time to bust some dirtbags
4) Donuts

I'm going with #4
The other choices are seriously lacking in entertainment value.

I respect the police but I refuse to let that stop me from poking a little fun.
I'm gonna disagree with you 100%. I know several of these guys and they are stand up folks. Also, check out "Liitle Rock Police Dispatch"

Did you read the part where I said "I respect the police but I refuse to let that stop me from poking a little fun."

I'm guessing the answer is no.

I grew up surrounded by Texas Rangers (the kind with a badge) and my nephew is a LEO so believe me when I say that I have no ill will toward them. I have nothing but respect.

But I'm also a wise ass. So...

yeah man I LOVE IT when cops pull me over just to check out my car! It's so much fun to shoot the sh!t with them especially if I'm on my way somewhere important and I'm late!

Most likely he was responding to a call. Lights and sirens aren't always used. Although it could be he was joking with you, but they really aren't supposed to do that kind of stuff.

Exactly...poster has bats in the belfry. OP had a funny story, a few comments have taken away from the thread... I am sure mine will as well.

No cop baits anyone in a fully marked police car..could he have been playing around as a muscle car fan? Sure.. I have heard stories up north with unmarked police camaros/mustangs baiting..but that is in bad taste. However, I have only heard these stories from the violators. Some people think a sports car lined up next to them makes it their moral obligation to tree the traffic signal.... they were baited, couldn't resist.

While that was happening I think the cop was looking out his side mirror at us laughing and figured what we were talking about. The light turned green and all of a sudden the cop takes off, with me way behind him with a dumbfound look on my face knowing that I couldn't do anything about it. My friend then started busting out laughing.

You should have video taped it, took his number down for speeding and reported him if he didnt have sirens or lights on. Then you should have posted it on Youtube under reckless driving cops.

Yep, it depends on the call and the conditions.

I actually got pulled over by a State Trooper who says he pulled me over for my tinted light covers but we ended up on the side of the road for like 30 minutes talking about my car and all my mods because he wanted to get some of the same for his own vehicle. However the funny part of the whole stop was when he pulled me over and i turned on my emergency flashers with my Rapid Fire Tail lights i saw his partner in the passenger seat point and say WTF.....because the rapid fire tails flash like cop lights...LMAO!!! Oh yea....and i got no ticket.
