I've heard when gas sits for a long time it can 'seperate'. Maybe the ethanol in the fuel 'seperated' and caused it?

I have no facts or data to back that up, just something I've heard.

He cleared it and it hasn't come back. I've driven over 500 miles since the CEL came on and not a thing wrong with the car. The car was very shaky when I first turned it on and the CEL came on, so I'm guessing it misfired because of the gas sitting for a month and that was the end of it? Maybe I'm wrong, but let me know what you guys think.

Just a suggestion for everyone, buy a OBD II code reader, you can pick one up at Harbor Freight for around $30. I bought one several years ago for a 2000 Sunfire I owned and have used it on several other cars. It comes in handy reading and resetting your codes.
