Someone needs to invent a way to make a V6 sound like that!

Buy a V8 instead ?
Im sure there are ways but it will be difficult because it is the nature of both engines.

in a short, disappointing response...no not really

i did a decent job on my old car ('05 V6 Mustang) with a dual MAC set up with a reverse y-pipe and JBA silver ceramic shorty headers that went along with a full cold air intake system, bigger throttle body, computer retune, and an underdrive pulley...i think all those components along with that 4.0 engine came about as close as i've ever heard and it fooled a lot of people because at idle it sounded really deep like a V8 and it sounded good under acceleration but you can always tell the difference in the end (especially being that it was automatic it suffered from some droning, unless i put it in overdrive off)... (p.s. sorry i don't happen to have any videos of my old car and its setup to demonstrate, but my experiences with that car proved that the MAC and Flowmaster kits seemed to be the deepest for that car)

but i would recommend looking into stuff like that all in conjunction, but i can't guarantee anything because it's a completely different motor and car...

i love the sound of my v8 now, even though it's still stock

good luck though i hope this helped a little

ok yeah that's pretty darn close...i would think somewhere around there is about the best you can do with a V6...

i would say look into all those options and wait until other people experiment with their cars and post up videos and audio clips so that you don't end up unhappy with your set up...

because you have to remember that different cars produce different sounds

The exhaust in the video I posted is actually a flowmaster and Im pretty sure theyre coming out with a Camaro version so you might want to wait for that

That sound reminds me of my old '98 F-150 with the 4.2L V6. I cut off the exhaust after the cats, added a 3 inch pipe to the rear axle and then split it from there to 2.5" to some "glasspackish" tips. I wish I had a recording of it right now.

i wanna hear a v12 with strait exhaust...really, i wonder if it will sound amazing or meh
Anyways no way you can ever make a v6 sound like an 8. You can make the idle sound pretty darn close, like the 4.0 stangs for sure but by the time you get to the higher rpms to get the power, your car now sounds like a v6. Which is not bad, but just not that beautiful v8 sound you can get.
Im gonna go with Screamings exhaust most likely, he did/ got a really great exhaust set up for his car, which is pure v6, but pure sexy v6 sound!

v8s have a longer crank/stroke and i think that has alot to do with it. I had a truck with an inline-6 (which has a longer crank than a v8) that i had put a 40 series flowmaster on and it sounded very close to a v8.

im sure its a combination of things but the cheapest in the long run is just to learn to love it as a v6. Its an incredible motor.
